The Three Wood expression is matured in three different casks - American Bourbon Wood, Spanish Oloroso Sherry then finished in Pedro Ximinez casks. A complex variety of flavours are derived from each which means the Auchentoshan Three Wood is a truly unique malt in its own right.

Bursting with warm smoke, oak and honey, balanced with a hint of zesty lime

Deep amber in hue, the first scents are reminiscent of nutty muesli, with chocolate chips and steamed cream. Behind this a hint of Elastoplast, gradually becoming faintly smoky. Very spicy to taste at full strength, spritzich and warming; dark chocolate lingers in the after-taste. Water settles it down. The nose now gains a fruity dimension (dried orange peel?), but overall it remains dense and elusive. The taste is sweet to start, with ‘Angel Dust’ on the tongue, traces of coconut, and a medium-length, dryish finish.<br>

The classic Bowmore smokiness is infused with sweet sherry notes and hints of heather honey. The finish is beautifully balanced with a sweet peat smoke tone and a hint of sea salt.

This award winning 17 year old malt continues the tradition of wonderfully rich, warm and smokey malt that Bowmore have produced in the past. It has a light pear smoke combined with rich treacle toffee and ripe exotic fruit nose which gives way to a luscious cream toffee and delicious warm smokiness on the palate. The finish is incredibly smooth, warm and comforting.
